Two crits in two days! One for Studio, one for Tectonics. One very good, one very bad! Excuse me for a minute while I get something off my chest!
First up was the presentations in front of the Edinburgh International Festival Committee. As described earlier, we have been designing projection exhibitions demonstrating the past 60 years [...]

The Demarco Archive

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Richard Demarco is a photographer who has attended every single Edinburgh International Festival (all 60 of them over 60 years) and has taken literally millions of photographs of the “real” people who attended each one. I.E. the stuff you won’t see in the official press photos. We have complete access to his archive to include [...]

Saturday Walk

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

Decided to play tourist again today. I hadn’t been up to Prince’s Street or the Royal Mile since we were back in the hostel. So I took a walk up there with the intention of getting my first European haircut (eek), a Scottish flag to hang in my room (it needs something on the walls), [...]

Does anyone have a pencil? No?

Trip Through Fife

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

What is this? An update?!?
In the first of this semester’s Napier International Student Club trips, we had a guided bus tour of the eastern Fife county.

Ending Week 2

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

We did a walk through of a condo project on friday for my tectonics class. We got to see much of the process from early construction to finished design.

It snowed a few days back. The canal was frozen over but not thick enough to stand on.

There was a big Rugby game on [...]

Americana

It was early… I wanted a mocha. There happened to be a Starbucks across the street from campus, so I decided to bite the bullet and check it out. As expected, it was pretty much like every other Starbucks in the world. A grande mocha went for £2.89… a bit cheaper than in the states. [...]

Shocking Occurances

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Microsoft Word just told me I spelled “Color” wrong. It corrected it to “Colour”.
On the British keyboards, the ” and @ symbols have been swapped. ~ and # are on the same key and located where the enter key usually is. I keep mistyping everything and type a # whenever I mean to hit enter.

Apparently Scotish [...]

A Bit of This and That

Monday, February 5th, 2007

So. Turns out I am not keeping regular updates. Shame on me. Especially when so much has been happening.
Since the last post, I moved into university accomodations. Not too shabby. Ok, maybe a little shabby… Pretty typical student housing… rediculously small room, uncomfortable bed, gross color carpet, the whole nine yards. But I finally [...]
