My life. Documented.

I am an architectural designer living and working in the Seattle area. This blog is used to document my travels around the world.

Last week was both heaven and hell.

Laurie's Birthday Party Bank Hotel

Thursday: We had our first crits with our new project. One on one with the professor. I presented my ideas, and he really liked them. Plus he gave me great ideas on how to proceed. Radically different from the direction I originally was going to take. But we needed to draft up early detail drawings for Friday’s crit so I dedicated the rest of the day to making the detail drawings. So we worked, and worked, and worked, until it was…

Friday: We continued to work until about 12:30AM when security kicked us out of the building. So I went back to my apartment to finish. Finally got it done around 4:00AM. At least done to a stage where I could plot. But everyone was going to plot in the morning and so I decided to get up at 6:00AM to beat the crowd. So after 2 pleasant hours of sleep, I got up and went back to studio. Today’s crit is with the professor who decided I was an idiot a few weeks ago. To keep a long story short… where I was under prepared last time, I was over prepared this time and redeemed myself in the eyes of my professor. So dispite 48 hours of hell working on the project, it was completely worth it! Of course the lack of sleep caught up to me Friday night so I just went to bed.

Saturday: We had a surprise birthday party for one of the people living in our Block. It was fun.
